OP-ED: Why in the world are we going to Maine?
October 9, 2015 in the Columbia Daily Spectator
"Simply put, this single issue is bigger than any one election. As hard as it might be to believe, everything we care about—from student debt, to minimum wage laws, to women’s health issues, and even deficit reduction—rests on the reform of our campaign finance system."

OP-ED: The Rules of Conduct are flawed
October 17, 2014 in the Columbia Daily Spectator
"As the University Senate’s review of our campus Rules of Conduct commences, students, faculty, and administrative workers must make their voices heard in advocacy of free speech and assembly. This issue isn’t partisan, nor should it be polarizing: It is paramount to the future of our university. If we don’t organize now, we might lose the right to organize at all."

OP-ED: In defense of student activism
November 12, 2013 in the Columbia Daily Spectator
"Student activists have power: We helped swing an election that weekend. As students downed coffee, a campaign volunteer in his mid-50s came up to me to make sure everyone had gotten breakfast. When I told him that all of our students had given up their fall breaks to bus down and campaign, he looked at me and said “You know, I always thought everyone under 30 was the ‘Me Generation.' I guess you're all proving me wrong.”"
